Yearbook

Ok here is my first attempt at cover design.

My mom is a first grade teacher at Brookwood Elm. in Snellville, GA. Their wonderful Art teacher Shea Cunningham had this great idea for a special cover celebrating the 25th anniversary of the school but didn't know how to do it.
Being that I have the skills with Photoshop and Illustrator need for the project my mom volunteered me. Let me know what you think.

Architecture

OK so with portfolio fast approaching I still have one architecture shot left to fill. Because I have a residential exterior already I wanted to find something a bit more commercial. While wondering around I stumbled ot this beautiful and perfectly symmetrical church.

I am hoping that this will complete my section and I will be one step closer to finishing my portfolio!

The Village

There are quite a few hidden treasures in and around the metro Atlanta area. Places that you find and for a few moments forget you are in the city.  When I stumbled across one hidden in a back alley I was captivated by the building.

This is one of the images that came from my time there. I chose to give it a surreal look almost sketch like because that is how I felt when I first saw it.

Butterfly Reflections

Prof Jones gave us a really kean assignment on Tuesday. We had to take an image and inhance it with a shadow and/or a reflection. I chose to cut a butterfly out of an image I took and make it look like I had it in the studio.

This is what I have come up with so far. Feel free to let me know what you think!

Architecture

Monday we have our Section B AKA Architecture assignment due. I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to shoot because it was so overcast this morning. At about 9:30 I went out with the hopes that the sky would clear up just long enough to allow me to shoot and sure enough it did!

What do you think? Is it leaning or is that just the hill?
According to the guides on Photoshop it is in fact straight. I just hope Mrs. Harkins likes it because this would finish up my section B!

Open Assignment

For my open assignment I wanted to do a picture for the portrait section of my portfolio. I took my sister out to do a fantasy shoot but after I did some test shoots she cut her knee open on a rusty post. We had to end the shoot then so what I had from test shots is what I worked with.

This is the image that I ended up using. All things considered I think that I came out alright. I want to possibly re-shoot or maybe use her in a different scene.

Food Shoot

So I know it has been forever since I have posted. . . Sorry about that!

Anyway this past Thursday we joined ranks with the culinary class and tried our hand at food photography.  My first dish that I shot was tortilla soup:

Unfortunately my film holders had some bad light leaks so I had to go with the digital back up.  Over all I think it turned out alright.
~
Later in the morning we found out that there was an extra dish that needed to be photographed so I also got to shoot the dip tray.

I really like how this dish was plated and I think it was a successful last minuet solution.

Sandy Skoglund

I was reintroduced to the art of Sandy Skoglund today.

Looking at this is get lost in the pattern but still I am left with the questions of, how much fee time and patients do you have to have to do this?
